The Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) of Japan offers scholarships to Iraqi nationals with a minimum of a bachelor's degree who wish to study in graduate courses at Japanese universities as Research Students (either regular students or non-regular students) under the Japanese Government (MEXT) Scholarship Program.
Applicants must have been born on or after April 2, 1987.

- Please read the application guidelines carefully and prepare all required documents. Placement Preference Application Form can be modified as appropriate after passing the exam and interview.
- If your application documents are not complete, your application will not be considered.
- All documents, examinations (except the Japanese language examination) and procedures are written and conducted in English.
- Age limits set by the MEXT Guidelines are definite. No exceptions can be made for anyone under any circumstances.

MEXT offers a scholarship to Iraqi teachers who wish to conduct research on school education. This is a non-degree training course, but he/she will get a certificate after completing the required course at the university in Japan. This program is not designed for those who wish to enter Bachelor’s, Master’s or Doctor’s degree courses.
